Hi everyone!
My greetings π
First of all I want to say thanks to the excellent minds who thought of building this amazing community connecting the different cultures all around the world.
Here it is a general saying in Hindi 'kuen ka mendhak' means (a frog in the well) this term generally used for someone who behave like a very limited entity taking pride of the world around him/her. Just like the frog in a well who never got out of the well to see the vast world outside and so the frog thinks that the well is the whole world and there is nothing more.
I believe there is much more outside which I never seen, I have never known, never felt, never experienced, that's why I love to know about the other cultures and their beautiful traditions.
Basically I don't want to be the frog in the well. I know there is much more to see to feel and to experience and to be grateful for. π
Now coming to the prompt by @selfhelp4trolls with eight cross culture questions. I am going to reply π
1 What is something that you learned about the world from being on Hive?
I learned a lot of new things about this world. I got to see many beautiful places in and out of my country, foods, cultures and traditions. But the most important thing to be mentioned here is that I learnt about crypto only after joining Hive.
2 What is something that you learned about yourself from being on Hive?
Being on hive, I came to know that I can write and also that my photography too is not that bad π haha
3 What are the cultural demographics of your hive relationships?
As I joined hive only on 2nd August 2020 so my friend list is not that long. If out of those few that I follow (and i like) i have to calculate the percentage then 50% of them are Indians, 30% Nigerians, small percentages of Pakistani, Polish and Indonesian friends.
4 What are the other demographics of your close relationships at Hive?
My friend @kemmyb is a writer, I love her fictional writing most. She is the best person I have found on Hive till date. She is helpful and supportive to everyone on the blockchain. She made me learn a few things about posting good content. Always grateful to find her as she always encourages me to improve myself with her nice comments on my posts. She is a friend as well as a mentor and motivator π
@bhattg a person who is a 'pahadi' (belonging to hilly areas π) the person who supports new comers in all the way he can. He curates for @indiaunited , always curating good content. He is the one who supported me in my starting times and so he motivated me to stay here π and that's why I respect him a lot.
@katiefreespirit a person always giving me virtual tours of beautiful places, and the delicious dishes. Everyday she adds something new to my knowledge. π
@okluvmee only person whom I knew before joining hive, actually he is the one who told me about hive. He a fan of gym and shopping new things ππ
@ayesha-malik a friend from the opposite side of border π, a very good writer (with good sense of humor π) and a sincere person., and I feel she is a book worm too ππ
@esther-emmanuel though i dont know her much, but with the few comments we have exchanged till now I think we are going to be good friends π
5 Which friend from Hive has taught you the most about another culture?
I will say @ayesha-malik , though our cultures are same in many aspects. But still a little differences are there. Second person is @kemmyb reading her writings I get to know a few things about her culture. As I feel a small part of culture is always reflected in the writings of a person.
6 How did you find your favorite people at Hive?
My most favorite is @kemmyb and it was she who found me π through engaging with comments ( for the first time she appeared before me, when I shared a receipe of veg sandwiches and she put some queries related to it. I replied and then it all started)
Some of the friends I found while participating in various contests.
7 Have you had any confusion, difficulty or surprise when talking to someone from another culture on Hive?
No I never had any confusion of that kind, yes there are surprises at times when things are totally different between two cultures. Sometimes surprises arises on the similarity too. For example here in my native language We call mother with the word ''maa'' i was very surprised when in one of her writings kemmyb used this same word for mother. That was a pleasant surprise actually. π
8 What community would you like to see grow at Hive?
There is no particular community, I want people from all communities join Hive, knowing and supporting each other, and exchanging smiles and making this world a better place to live.
So finally i have done it π thank you @selfhelp4trolls for this opportunity to express my views. I wanted to take part in this challenge since the day i read the post about it, but it took so much time. I am glad and grateful now π
So please my friends, you too are invited to answer all these questions, here is the link for further details please check it now.
A note for everyone I tagged here
Please don't mind the tags, you are the ones whom i admire and feel connected in some way. You have made my journey a little easier here on Hive and that's why I feel grateful to all of you and wishing you the best of everything.
Light and peace
@preets
Hey Preets! First, I love the illustration you gave about the frog thinking the well is the world. We need to look beyond our circle and get to know others. Crossculture community is a platform that unites amazing minds from all parts of the world.
Thanks so much for the lovely things you wrote about me here. If I could blush, I'm sure I would! π You are easy to be friends with and I'm glad I met you here.
You are doing great. Keep it up and never stop smiling! ππ
Thank you for 'You' my dear friend @kemmyb
You too just keep smiling π!!
I like @kemmyb too! Not to mention @bhattg and @esther-emmanuel :-D
I should make more of an effort to connect with Hive India. I have become friendly with a few people over the years but some of them left. I'd like to get to know some of the new people and learn more about each area of India.
thanks, sir means a lot π
yes there were many great and active users back then now most of them are not here anymore but it is good to see many new and amazing users are joining the hive it really feels great to be here.ππ

Thank you for always appreciating amd encouraging my efforts dear @kemmyb π
Thank you for leaving a comment @selfhelp4trolls
Indeed india is so diverse in its foods cultures tradition etc even I am not familiar with most of things even now. Still at times I feel like the frog in the well. Just the difference is that I do know that there is a vast world outside to explore π
Thank you.,
Namaste

Wonderful post @preets. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it...I think I need to go take a look at this lovely community of which you speak. I have seen a few people writing this past month on Cross Culture questions... I am so pleased that you have settled in with a lovely group of people that you feel connected with; that is so important on Hive that we find our little tribes and have each other to bounce things off, to connect, people to share a free flow of energy with ...and if @kemmyb is one of your favourite peeps, then you hit the jackpot in my view hehe ...much love x
Hi dear @samsmith1971 first of all thank you so much for your nice comment, it's surprising for me that you don't know about cross culture community. Check it out dear.
And yes finding a good friend is never less than hitting a jackpot. A friend is one of the biggest blessings of God. π
Thank you
Stay blessed
Blessed 2022 to you and your dear ones!! ππ
hehe there is soooooo much on Hive to explore... we hear of so many wonderful communities ... and they are on the list to check out... time is a limiting factor. But when the same thing knocks on my door repeatedly in a short space of time, I know that I owe it to myself to pay attentionβ£οΈ I will be visiting the community later today to read posts as it is one of the things I love about Hive... learning about the lives, culture, and traditions of all our people spread around the world. All the very best to you and your family for 2022 π
Thank you for the wishes π
Stay happy dear namaste π
Thanks a lot.....ππ @preets its my pleasure that i told you about hive community... Because aap bohot acha likhte ho or aapko dekh kar mujhe inspiration milti hai or bohot khushi ki baat hai mai aapko bhaiya ko or Meri pyari or cutie si dakshu ko pehle se janta huβ€β€
Thanks a lot bhai ππ
May God bless you with a long healthy and happy life ahead ππ
Glad to see such remarkable feedback, I was thinking that you would give the credit of crypto learning to this platform. But surprisingly you have acknowledged the self-exploration and polishing of your abilities with your Hive journey.
Am I a humorous person, ask my mom she will answer back to mend the laugh with a smile, it's a mission for 2022. (Kidding I love to crack jokes)
@kemmyb she is having goodness filled in her heartπΊ
And I don't think so you are a frog, perhaps if you are pointing to biological similarity then yes our organelles are identical except the cutaneous respiration π€£
I don't mind for getting the tag notification π
Hi dear probably you haven't read my post well, I have written about learning crypto too and the credit goes to hive π
Thank you for sharing some of the knowledge of biology here πππ stay blessed and happy π
Thank you so much @dreemport ππ
Prayers for a blessed new year to everyone there π
