My warm sunny greetings to you, my friends! Today we will have a very tasty and elegant publication. We will talk about delicious and refined wine, and more precisely, about viticulture "Dolyany". It is difficult to imagine Slovakia without the Wine Route. This is the so-called wine route. Wineculture in this country has a very long tradition. And in the mid-nineties in Slovakia there was a super-idea to develop wine routes.
What is the "Wine Route"? It's not just about making and selling wine. "The wine route is a real tourist fairy tale. Everyone can not only visit vineyards and a wine shop, but also visit wine cellars, taste exclusive wine at tastings and learn a lot about the history of this drink.
There are currently about 6 wine routes in Slovakia. And the most famous and popular from the bottom is the Little Carpathian Wine Route. Today we will visit it. We should not forget that one path can pass through many villages and towns. And we go to the village of Dolyany. It is here that the eponymous winery for the production of wine "Dolyany".
The Little Carpathian Wine Route was founded back in 1995. It includes more than 25 towns and villages. In fact, it is the ideal place to preserve the wine tradition and culture of this country. There are road signs along the route that indicate that you are entering the territory of the wine route. Grapes and the name of the path are depicted on such signs.
Grapes for making wine in Slovakia are very tasty. And this is not surprising. The country's climate plays the most important role in this. And also the choice of the most tasty grades of grapes gives the chance to create a masterpiece drink. My favorite grape varieties: nut and paradise Riesling. White wines are produced from these varieties.
Several times a month my husband and I go to the village of Dolyany for wine. My husband is very fond of red skis, I am dry white, and my mother is a berry dessert. And for each of us in this winery there is a wide range. Dolyana winery belongs to the Mikushev family. These are very hardworking people who love their job. Vineyards for them are their heart. Their family has never grown grapes or made wine before. But they wanted it so badly that 20 years ago they planted 4 hectares of grapes on their lands. This family has invested all their heart and all their lives in the development of grape growing. And today they already have more than 115 hectares of various and exquisite grape varieties.
For example, white and rosé wines are made from the following varieties: Green Veltlin, Riesling Vlaski, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Red Traminer, Moravian Nutmeg, Irsai, Oliver, Cabernet Sauvignon, Devin, Kine , Sauvignon Pink, Frankovk blue pink. Red wines are also made from a wide variety of varieties. Delicious fruit wines are made from cherries, black currants and strawberries. These are extremely tasty wines.
If you ever come to Slovakia, be sure to visit this winery. And even better, sign up for a tour. On a tour of "Dolyany" you will see the whole process of making wine: from planting grapes to bottling wine. You will definitely be delighted.
