Female Superhero Movies
Yesterday we discussed about the superhero movies. It was a great engagement.
Lets Discuss Superheroes
Some of you may think the question is based on a wrong presumption. And I want you to think it like that and counter my assumptions. But before that you can read my view.
Superheroine movies I can think of are Supergirl, Electra, Catwoman, Wonder Woman, and Captain Marvel (Forgive me if I’ve missed anything)
Supergirl was poorly written, relying too heavily on the success of the Christopher Reeve Superman movies without even having an appearance from him outside of a poster still and which was the reason of its failure. I guess there are some other reasons for other super heroine movies to fail. If you are avid movie watchers I am sure you will have your own reasons.
So what are you waiting for ? Lets begin the engagement.

I dont think superheroine movies are unsuccessful. Look at wonderwoman for that matter. I guess there are very few movies produced on this topic, hence you may be feeling that its not successful. In the following video you will find more information on superheroine movies
Good to see this. The collection of catwoman was not bad. It was roughly USD 82 million from world-wide sales. But wonderwoman was far more successful with $822 million collections. But still these numbers are far lesser than the marvel series
Oh geez... touchy subject! I'm just gonna say that female superhero movies are AMAZING!! Much, much better than their male counterparts (not that I even notice such things as gender). Yikes. I'm walking away now. lol

Excellent work on the daily posts so far and with the amazing engagement. I think that the issue is that the majority of the public has a sterotype for a hero and that stereotype is often male. I feel this leads to less hero movies featureing woman and therefore it seems as if they are not as successful. Just my two cine worth....lololol

I dont think they have failed. Of the female superhero movies that exist, the majority existed before the modern “era” of the superhero movie, before studios hit upon the formula for making superhero movies work.
In Korea we have a really good Superheroine movie. Strong Girl Bong-Soon is a young, down on her luck woman from Seoul who has been hiding a secret all her life. Bong-Soon has superhuman strength, a hereditary ability passed along only to the women in the family. However, there is one condition -- her powers must only be used for good, or she risks losing them forever
I wouldn't say all female superhero movies are not popular because If we see Great movies like Wonder Women, Wanda Vision Marvel Series, even i liked Captain Marvel and Black Widow. But yeah some movies in the past like Eleckra, Batwomen didn't do justice with the role. Although I guess earlier audience less appreciated women in super hero roles but that changed completely since Avengers or Wonder Women I guess. !PIZZA
I really think a lot of the bad aspect of that movies is because the female characters have been made like a female version of a male superhero or their ally. I don't really know a lot but I don't have any memory of a wonder woman not with the justice league, such as Catwoman is mostly with Batman. That's how Captain Marvel is really different with that !we're really focused on her and in the movie I really think that worked a lot. She is strong from the beginning to the end like most of the male superhero.
And they are not trying to make a sexy superhero fortunately, most of time when I see that I feel so much cringe like with the Halle Berry's Catwoman.
