"Your Favorite Russian Cinema"
The number of French or Italian or American movies that we watch, greatly exceed the number of Russian movies. But that doesn't reduce the importance of the Russian movies. They have a different perspective to look at the things.
"Kholop," a comedy with historical elements released in 2019, was the most successful Russian film by box office revenue in the country's modern cinematography.
So what are you waiting for ? Lets begin the engagement.
So today we are going to write about the Russian movies, cinema and web-series. This would really be a challenging topic as I believe there is not much written about Russian Cinema. Not many war films can capture the horrors of combat from the perspective of a character like this one. Sound mutes when bombs go off nearby, and the loud shrieks of tinnitus punish you. Come and See is one such Russian film that impacts.
Sparta is an interesting piece of Russian Films. The story is investigative. While investigating the mysterious death of a teacher, a seasoned detective gets caught up in the world of a dangerous virtual reality game that the students play.
Russian movies are by and large very rare. Its out of the syllabus question for me. Not only because they are very few but also because its hard to understand even with English subtitles.
Russian films are difficult to access. They are not easily available to watch. Hence there are very few comments about russian films
I remember the 2008 movies named "Admiral". This was an interesting movie on the life of
tragic life of Admiral Alexander Kolchak, one of the main leaders of the White Movement during the Civil War in Russia.
I am personally a big fan of Russian movies. One of my favorite Russian movies is Fidelity.
On Netflix you can (or you could until recently) watch Russian series produced by Sreda company. They include Trotsky where Konstantin Khabensky, who played Kolchak in Admiral, plays Kolchak's enemy Leo Trotsky, leader of Red Army in Civil War. Khabensky also does very good job as Meglin, enigmatic (and clearly disturbed) detective in crime show The Method.
