They're not always good, most people can testify to that; that's not their fault though, as circumstances outside their control dictate such things...but on this occasion good would be an understatement...with, fucken glorious, being a more apt description.
I'm referring to the beach of course...oh fuck, I just realised I made a typo in my title...I meant beach, not bitch. No worries, I'll fix it later when I have more time. #notreally
Anyway, I love being at the beach on evenings like this as the sun goes down taking the heat of the day with it. The cooling breezes coming off the ocean, the sounds of lapping waves (not that there were many waves - no surfing at this beach tonight) - and the way I feel closer to nature and the planet as my bare feet connect me to it through the sand and water lapping around my ankles. Ok, I'm not a huge fan of sand, the shit gets everywhere, but I can tolerate it for nights like this.
I hate being on the beach when it's super hot or windy, they're bad beaches as far as I'm concerned, but mostly I find beaches to be nice places whether they're like it is now or before and after storms that roll through. The enjoyment of a beach is linked to the weather and weather is just a way mother nature expresses herself I guess. Being at the beach always makes me somewhere in between two places; my life behind me and a vast open space in front and as I sit there watching the sun slip down over the horizon I feel it taking some of my stresses, tension or worries away with it, and that helps clear my mind and makes me feel better when I go back to the life I've turned my back in for those beachy moments.
Anyway, I'm off now to walk some more and maybe see if I can grab us an ice-cream.

There is something magical about being on the side of a body of water. I get a sense of the timeless power, consistency of presence vs being stuck in this moment, and getting back to the basics.
Along those lines, I love seeing others pictures of beaches here on hive. Takes me away for a few moments of happy thoughtfulness.
It's just a group of letters arranged in a particular way I guess...although knowing when to swear and when not to is something I pride myself on.

We have some beaches near where I live with some pretty much nasty water. Those are definitely some nasty beaches. My dream is to live near water one day. Like outside my door, not half an hour away like I do now.

In life you have to be sincere, original, creative, and take advantage of walks with a view of the sea for whatever you want to do with it. The sea is great. And well, if after being and doing all that you go for an ice cream, that's perfection.
I think an ice cream is a good way to put a full stop at the end of anything. Not that I get to eat much ice cream of course. Now and then I partake though.
I don't see ice cream as something to finish but to start with. But well... Just do it.
