It was sheer chance where each of us were born and who our parents were meaning you or I had nothing to do with it. However, it is each individual human that has shaped their own life positively or negatively through thoughts and actions, reactions too, and that's where luck or chance play less of a role. I think, like you say, it's worthy of taking a moment to think about that effort, the journey, and to be grateful for it...even the bad things as they help shape us too (if turned to our advantage through our subsequent actions.
