I think that Hive still needs a way to provide recurring payments for IPFS to work on the 2nd layer imho. I was trying really hard to come up with some "glue" to unite both platforms but I think it can only be done loosely for now.

We think we have this figured out. Using proof of access. We are about to release a white paper for this. Would love to get ur input to it when it’s done
Proof of access works by rewarding the user who found the most recent block only if they have a previous block chosen at random. This encourages users to store as much of the network as possible in order to increase their chances of receiving mining rewards. More details will be in the white paper. Have written u on discord
