Rangoli is an art form that developed in ancient India created using colored powders. Traditionally, it was only used to create patterns, like a mandala, but in recent years artists have started using it to create life-like illustrations. The floor is the canvas.

This is my study of a painting done on woven bamboo strands titled A Malayalee Lady in a Traditional Dress Holding Bamboo Umbrella.
