Nicky. This was heart-wrenching. That gentleness of a man. Too gentle for a world such as this.
I sometimes think of myself as being gentle. But, when I listened and then read (yes, I followed the link you shared with another in the comments), I realise how hard I can be. How hard I am. Over the decades, I've become so good at compartmentalizing. Boxing up the pain. Easing it out. Turning the other cheek but not in the compassionate sense. Numbing myself to the realities.
Sending you love. Feeling grateful to know you. Feeling a little more. 💛

Wow... I just felt like I needed to let that sit and ruminate a bit. Stirring. Poetic. Poignant. Real. A life... nay two... lost too soon... River and Chris... heartbreaking. I was in in my first year LLB walking along to a tutor class when I heard the news of River's death. It was like a sucker punch for a generation that adored him.
I am so sorry about the loss of your friend Chris 😔🙏

Hah! You remember River Phoenix's death too. I remember that moment exactly and seeing it on CNN as it unfolded. Yeah. It cut me up as well. He was so talented.
Chris was rough. I feel like I let him down big time. But in truth I did my best and life happened. It's why I got a bit protective of you re your recent share and just to say addiction is a tough beast and to stay a bit detached to take care of you, please ❤️
Chris was an addict on the street I was trying to get back into rehab... we almost got there. Almost. :(

I'm so sorry, my lovely. Chris' death must have been so hard on you. I am not overly invested myself, at the moment. I just wanted to help him as his story truly touched me. I will make sure that I keep myself detached sufficiently. A friend of mine lost her son to drugs and that was close to home. My own children come from the chaos of a drug and alcohol-fuelled background so I am naturally guarded. Thank you for looking out for me !LUV !ALIVE 💞
