We, in the CTP Swarm community, are very serious when we are creating goals... And when we have them, we work-out our butts to get to them... And the newest goal is to create at least a dozen of Dolphins in our community... To reach that, people should use all the available tools that can help them to accomplish that goal...
The goal is to be a combination of work efficiency and helping others to get there also!
Let's break this on smaller pieces... You can earn HIVE and other tokens here in many ways, but the 2 most important ones are:
- by creating content (blog posts, vlogs, commenting on other's posts)
- by curating others (upvoting other's posts/comments)
We already know the first one... Now, go out and create your daily blog post and comment on at least 5 posts! :)
The second one is a bit more tricky... When you upvote other's posts and the VALUE of your upvote is determined by the amount of your staked tokens (HIVE POWER, CTP Power, LEO Power)... We have the main token, which is HIVE and you can earn it by upvoting ANY of the post on the whole blockchain... And we have "tribe" tokens (LEO, CTP, PAL...) which you can earn by upvoting and creating in those tribes (usually, you have to use specific TAG when you are creating in the certain tribe)... (TIP01) - If you have staked CTP tokens and you upvote some post in LEO tribe (and that post has also CTP tag inside), you will earn HIVE + CTP tokens from the curation...
There are some additional things that you should know about upvoting... The lowest amount of curation rewards that you can receive is 0.001 HP (Hive Power), so (TIP02) if you have a low amount of staked HIVE tokens (under 200) you should pay attention about the percentage of your upvotes... If you are upvoting with 5-10% upvotes, your earning could be less than 0.001HP and you will not receive any curation rewards for that upvote.
(TIP03) If you are upvoting comments, you have to pay attention that minimum payout is around $0.025, and as on comments in general, there are fewer upvotes, you should have that HivePower that will give you that amount... If not, the whole amount goes to "dust" and you will not receive curation rewards, nor the comment author...

I only have 50 delegated HP at this point of time, and have only been active for 3 days,
I have been posting and commenting and up voting where I can, usually 50% up vote, but they are still not worth anything
I did strike the point yesterday when I couldn't make a comment and had to wait a bit until I could.

The great thing about Hive blockchain is that you can not only earn by creating content but also earn by supporting others' content. Both are important. Unlike other platforms like YouTube, only content creators get monetary benefits. If we see this in the long term, it would be way bigger than we think.

I believe that for blockchain oldtimers like me, it's sometimes difficult to understand the difficulties that new users have to face on this platform. We need more content like this to make the basic stuff more accessible for smaller and newer users. Great post!
Totally agree... I have also forgotten some details about the HP needed for curation rewards, the number when you have that % voting bar, etc... It's great when others ask, then we can together search and find the answer... ;)

Great video and tips on curation Zoltan, and if I am seing things correctly from other accounts you need about a 100% vote at 50 HP to earn curation rewards, quite a bit also depending on VP and the rewards curve, stay awesome.
Yeah, there are a lot of things in the calculation... In general, if people have less HP, they should use more % upvotes...
