The Clearwater River in Idaho has some of the best Steelhead fishing around. So when my Dad booked a boat with his fishing guide friend, I wasn’t gonna turn it down. A Christmas gift to 3 of his 4 boys. 3 of us live locally and one is down in Oklahoma. We had a blast dish reeling these Steelhead in!!
The Clearwater River canyon scenery is absolutely breathtaking!! I have tons of pictures that I will put into a blog post later. I figured I would put together a little video first. Showing the scenery and bringing a few Steelhead into the boat. The weather was dang near perfect. No wind, snow, rain, and it wasn’t bone chilling freezing. Just a great day of Steelhead fishing on the Clearwater River!!

Now that's what I call a great time. Going fishing with family and pulling in some trout, it doesn't get any better than that!
I was wondering, are the waters that you fish, a catch and release zone, or do you get to keep a certain limit?
A long time ago when we went cross-country and fished the Snake River in Wyoming. We caught lots of Cut Throat trout. Their pink meat tasted like lobster. The Steelhead remind me of them.

Sometimes you can keep 2, this time of year they upped it to 3. I may have to take a cruise over there and fish off the bank. I saw a handful of people doing that…
Just one of those bad boys has to give you several pounds of meat. With the place only being 2 hours away, it would be possible to make a day trip out of it.
Heck ya!! It’s a nice little drive with some good scenery. I better take my fishing addict brother with me though. I would probably cast and catch an eagle or something. Lol

Fishing, what a adventure.
I haven't went fishing in years dude honestly.... I won't mind going on a trip again soon! And damn I used to love ot like crazy, I wonder where my life took turns in other directions😅😅

I go with my Dad and brothers a few times a year. My Dad (73 and retired) basically goes fishing or hunting everyday. LOL
It's always nice to get out on the river and enjoy the scenery... a nice break from life.

Have you seen the Duckboy postcards with silly black-and white photos? There's one captioned as fishing for steelhead, and the picture is an angler with a giant horseshoe magnet on his pole instead of a lure.
