Yo Hivers!! Sorry to leave you all hanging with Project Subi… Good news is the project is complete and the car is running like a champ. My Son loves it and is already having some teenage fun with it.

I’m considering doing another Subaru engine swap in the future. I see a lot of them with blown up engines for real cheap. Instead I picked up another car from my brother. A 2006 Mazda 3 with a 40k mile engine for $500. My silly brother had the engine put in then he never drove it. I put some tires, shocks, brake pads and brake rotors on it and it’s been running like a champ. Then she started acting up a bit. I’m beginning to wonder if this was a good idea. I’m pretty sure they are simple fixes so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Just a little update since I have been gone a while. Stay Blessed Hivers!! Uploaded using 3Speak Mobile App

I had been wondering about this!

My bad!! Things got a little hectic around here for a while but it’s all good now.

That engine swap was pretty dang easy and I would totally do it again. I still have the old engine block sitting on my work bench. LOL

My son if now trying to get me to buy a broke Subaru with black leather interior so he can swap the interior out and have nice leather seats. It would be a fun project for him and he found one for $300 but it sold quick.

I've been considering a project like this for a while. Outbacks with blown head gaskets can be found out here by the dozen for $500.

Oh yeah!! That 2.5l engine is a little on the spendy side compared to other Subi engines. About $2,000. Buying this car, engine swapping it, new clutch and flywheel, head gaskets, a few other engine parts, registering it and everything I was about $4,000 into it. That ain’t bad and that car is super clean!!

I’m thinking about doing a VW TDI next. Found a 2013 wagon with a blown engine for $1,500. Perfect condition car. It sold instantly! You snooze you lose. LOL

Haha awesome!

When ever I think of a project that will go from simple to involved to too much, I think overhaul. The fact you can replace the whole engine and get it working well again is legit. So is a car for $500 that will just take a few parts and your time to get rolling smoothly.

Damn I wish you were my neighbour with that skill and we would have matching 365 Christmas lights.

Welcome back we kept the lights on for ya!

I hear ya!! Whenever I get like that I have to step back and just think “one step at a time”.

My brother is an electrician and I’m a Lineman. Electricians like to call Lineman “Dumb Ass Lineman”. Being that he is one of my older brothers he enjoys saying that to me. LOL Who is the dumb ass that traded a 2005 f150 with a blown engine to a guy for putting a motor in your little commuter car that you failed to check the oil in and seized the motor up. Then when you get the car back you don’t drive it and put a ton of miles on your Toyota tundra. He drives over 100 miles a day to and from work. Silly guy!! Who’s the dumb ass now. 🤣🤣

Screw them Christmas lights!! They last longer if I leave them up. I swear, once you take them down half the lights quit working. LOL

The Subie turned out frikkin great! I have to say the sticker was a cool idea! The slamming it down to the ground.. well not a fan of that! Laughs although all my friends are getting that crappy idea!_

The Mazda 3 I think was a superb buy! But then again I am a Mazda fan so!

Hope you've been doing good bud!
