Senior High Work Immersion is a program wherein grade 12 learners will undergo work simulation within several days or months to enhance or acquire knowledge and skills on the particular track and strand they are enrolling in. So as their school and industry linkages officer, I am in charge of looking at our school partners so that our learners can have their work Immersion. One of our partners is the CEBECO 2. This firm is highly recommended for they can provide the necessary skills and knowledge to our Senior High School Learners specifically in Electrical Installation and Maintenance students. So last October 14, we sent our 13 EIM students in Ilihan IS to CEBECO 2 as their first day of work immersion together with other schools like Calape National High School and Oporto National High School in Banban, Bogo City, Cebu.
On the first day of their work Immersion, the CEBECO DOS organized a welcome program before conducting an orientation for all work immersion learners. It was our first time at CEBECO, so we didn't have any idea how they would welcome us. We were amazed by their efforts on the welcome program. The learners took their line upon entering the social hall while the employees of CEBECO 2 lined up in two lines with space in between around the social hall. The learners and the teachers will take their way in between the two lines or in the middle while dancing. There were already tables and chairs provided for us to settle down when we arrived. After that, the opening program began with a prayer, national anthem, and roll call.
During the roll call, each school was tasked to give their yells. Other schools had their yells prepared while our learners from Ilihan didn't have yells prepared. However, they are all BSP and therefore always ready to deliver their yells too. After the roll call was the opening message by the General Manager followed by the welcome dance by the CEBECO 2 HRD Department. After the welcome dance was a message by one of the CEBECO DOS directors. After that, I was shocked when I was tasked to deliver my message too. Even if my tooth was aching I couldn't say no to them. I am forever grateful for accepting us and being our partners in this endeavor. I salute their commitment, dictation, and enthusiasm in sharing their knowledge, and skills as well as building or shaping the character of our learners. If not for their commitment, DepEd goals, vision, and mission for the Senior High School Program would not be possible.
After the opening program, the first batch of work immersion learners had their orientation proper. We hope that during their 10 days at CEBECO, they will bring home the lessons they deserve and can use in their future endeavors.
Thank you Sr!!!
This is great. I am sure the students shall learn a lot during their work immersion.
