I have always liked adventures and visiting areas I have never been to before, but this time the first Savers Camp at Camp Marina was a whole different cup of tea. Definitely, it has left an indelible mark on me—not for the activities—all because of the camaraderie, learning, and simple joy found therein. Allow me to provide a brief window into my unforgettable journey at Savers Camp.

Arrival: Into the Arms of Nature

The moment I arrived, it was Camp Marina that introduced me to its beauty. Naturally so, amidst greenery, it was a beautiful fusion of serene landscapes and adventure-ready terrains. Just the fresh air and the sight of towering trees easily set a calm yet exciting tone for the days ahead.

Smiling faces and a quick induction into the layout of the camp and the schedule clearly made us feel most welcome. Very soon, everyone seemed to be sharing an energetic family feeling, all ready to embark on this very memorable journey together.

Setting Up Camp: Making Bonds

Being divided into groups was good for getting to know new people and starting to bond. Setting up the tents was our first exercise, and it looked a bit of a challenge, but it turned into fun. We pitched our tents with a little guidance, laughing and telling stories.

Day One: Adventure Awaits

The first day was filled with all kinds of fun events scheduled to get in touch with everyone's comfort zone and inner daredevil. We went on a nature hike through the pristine trails found near Camp Marina. The walk was an absolute refresher and informative: the guide pointed out the various type of flora and facts about the natural ecosystem.

This was followed promptly by an obstacle course, which is a true testament to physical fitness and teamwork. It was simply adrenaline-packed and a real-life story of teamwork, from climbing up the walls and crawling through the nets. For sure, at the end of this we were exhausted, but our faces beamed because we cheered on one another and celebrated our victories together.

Evening Reflections

As sunset drew to a close, so the lighting of the campfire gave way to a much-needed period of thought and bonding. Maybe it's just something in campfires—the warmth, the crackling of wood against the fire, and the starry sky above—that makes for an atmosphere perfect for sharing stories and forging deeper bonds.

Each one of us shared the highlight of the day, and it was overwhelming to listen to different views or experiences. Some spoke about conquering fear; others did on new friendship; the common thing was a feeling of achievement and belonging.

Day Two: Learning and Growth

The second day of Savers Camp was more oriented towards personal development and learning. We had a number of workshops lined up, all offering quite a lot of great skills and insights. The first workshop was on survival skills, where we were introduced to some very essential techniques on how to build a fire, find clean water, and administer basic first aid. These skills, though fun to learn, underscored the importance of preparedness and self-reliance.

Another highlight was the Leadership Workshop, which gave us the chance to come out of our comfort zones and undertake roles that were really challenging to the normal thinking and behaviors. Various group activities were involved in this workshop that required strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving. These exercises increased not only our leadership skills but also created a feeling of unity and respect for one another.

The Adventure Continues: Water Activities
In the afternoon, following lunch, we went for some water activities on the lake at the camp. We were to engage in kayaking and canoeing, where most of us did these activities for the first time. Nervousness soon turned into excitement with paddling down calm waters, racing each other, and tipping over occasionally to everybody's merriment.

Another refreshing experience was the swim in the lake. The cool water was just the perfect antidote to the summer heat; so we enjoyed playing games and just floating around, relishing the tranquility of the surroundings.

Final Night: Entertainment and Goodbyes

Our final night at Savers Camp was simply the best. We had a talent show where the campers showed off their different talents. Some of the performances included singing and dancing, some narrating stories, and even magic tricks. There was electric applause in the air as everybody cheered and clapped for one another's performances.

Then we had an enormous dinner; great food, really—a mix of the local fare and campfire cuisine. We shared stories from our lives, laughed at some funny moments from the past few days, and even shed a tear or two, knowing it was almost time for us to say goodbye.

Reflection on the Journey

As I packed up stuff to leave Camp Marina, I couldn't help feeling a deep sense of gratitude. To me, Savers Camp had been so much more than activities strung together; it was a journey in self-discovery, growth, and making connections. I walked out of camp with new skills, some very dear memories, and, no doubt, lifelong friendships.

That, in a nutshell, was a blast: the first time to Savers Camp meant an adventure testing my limits, enriching my mind, and filling my heart with joy. Camp Marina offered just the right setting with its natural beauty and community vibrancy for such a wonderful experience. I'm already looking forward to my next adventure there and readiness to create more memories and learn even more.

Having been to this kind of event is God-given. You are blessed with such a wonderful experience @iviex.

Going to Camp Marina is the best experience as a girl scout. You can meet other girls from different schools. Too bad I couldn't join when I was in highschool because of financial problems☺️🥰

Amazing isnt it?

The obstacle course sounds intense! 🔥 Which part of it challenged you the most, and how did you push through?
