NOD YOUR HEAD

in Abundance Tribe3 years ago

A lot of us (I suppose) are familiar with the adage of the lizard nodding its head at its achievement after falling down. To you that fall may be nothing, you won't even notice it, but the lizard understands its make and knows that wasn't easy. It nods its head to congratulate itself.

Sometimes we get so caught up in the pressure of trying to do something or being like the next person that we forget that we are actually doing something.

There are lots on your desk, as you finish one, the next is already waiting. Then others are staring into your face like, why haven't you fixed me yet?
Your boss is screaming the roof down, clients are furious, everything seems to be happening at the same time. And you are feeling not good enough, feeling bad for not doing enough, feeling depressed even.

It's okay to want to do better of course, but it's not okay to not see that you are actually trying. You are moving. You are not where you used to be at least.
Calm down, breathe. Let me tell you what I've been telling myself these past days. "You are trying". You really are.

There'll always work to be done, stuff to fix, lots and lots to work on that you may mount so much pressure on yourself and even forget to breathe. But if you could just look at how far you've come already, you'll find out that you are indeed doing something.

It may not be the best yet or you may not achieve the required results yet but don't give up on yourself.

It may not be visible enough yet but at least you are working it out.
Don't allow yourself to be weighed down by the pressure to finish everything all at once. Instead, if you notice there are still things to fix, you may need to retrace , re-strategize and receive fresh strength to take embark on the next task.

Sometimes we need to act like the lizard or maybe like David, and encourage ourselves even when no one else notices It.
Congratulate yourself. Appreciate your efforts in pulling through the other stuff successfully.

Nod your head, thank God you didn't crash under the previous weight. Wear that smile. Reward yourself if you can and then buckle up for the next task. That way, it'll be easier to build confidence for the next assignment.
You are trying. You are doing the best you know at the moment. You really are.

Breathe. Everything will work out just fine.
I celebrate you.
