Harsh truth: Most of the problems in our world stem from bad parenting.
The government serves as a proxy parental figure for psychologically broken and emotionally wounded men & women. The leftist was likely neglected emotionally by his mother during childhood, which is why he looks to the government for the mother he never had: An all loving & caring Motherly figure who makes sure everyone is cared for from cradle to grave. Free healthcare for everyone!
The conservative, on the other hand, looks to the government for the father he never had. The masculine role model who was supposed to 'protect and serve'. Most young men join the military for this reason, because 'daddy' was never for them as a child.
I know these are deeply uncomfortable sentiments, because we like to view our parents as heroes and role models, but if you look deeply enough into this issue, you will see that it holds truth.
Was mommy and daddy really there for you as a child?
The problem with this line of argumentation is it suggests there is no such thing as healthy parents and therefore no such thing a healthy government.
But there could be healthy governance if we ended economic predation on humanity's basic needs...
