It is said that one does not choose spirituality but rather spirituality chooses one. But often that choice is discouraging and confusing. As I was making my first conscious steps in ‘spirituality’ during this life-time, I came across an enlightened mentor who told me that many great rewards await those who walk the spiritual path. When I tried to figure out what he was talking about and which rewards, he disappeared. That was many years ago, and since then I can testify that he was very right.
This post is mainly for those who started with 'spirituality' and sometimes ask themselves the question in the title. I hope it will strengthen your spirit in the less understood or simple moments that (maybe) you are experiencing.
There are three main categories in which life will reward you:
- Health: It does not matter if the spiritual world has been exposed to you because you have been looking for an answer to a medical problem, or you are completely healthy - while your physical body will go through not simple upheavals they will all lead you to better health. Your sleep will improve, you will feel refreshed in the morning just thanks to a few deep breaths (no matter how many hours you actually slept), and you will experience illnesses more easily than ever. At some point along the way you will assimilate your light body and then you will experience metamorphosis (I will not elaborate on that here and now).
- Material abundance - it may sound unrealistic to you right now, when you are penniless and groaning under debt, do not know how to pay rent/mortgage and the financial future seems bleak to you, but - and this is something I say from personal experience and also of many other people share the 'spiritual' path - there will be a very significant improvement in your income level. It will happen all at once when money comes to you (inheritance? Lottery?) or gradually. There will come a day when you suddenly realize that you have no more financial problems, and that it happened thanks to your choice of the'spiritual' path. Indeed, on the path the situation may worsen, you will go bankrupt, people will steal from you, you will be fired from your job - but in a strange way you will always have financial support that will keep you afloat, until that moment of complete well-being. Which will surely come!
- Relationships - and I left it to the end because it is perhaps the most elusive area in which you will see the change. Because health and abundance depend only on you but relationships involve other people, especially marital relationships. Here, too, you will begin to find that communication with others becomes deeper, no matter if the relationship between you is of one day or five years (or 50). For example, on your dates they will tell you something personal and you will absorb much more information about them. They will tell you that they like you and you will hear how they really feel about you and you will be able to react authentically. The sexual communication between you will be free of energetic feeding and therefore more pleasurable. This does not necessarily mean more frequent and prolonged orgasms, but rather that intimate relationships will be a means of close communication and not just a tool to release.
It does not matter which spiritual path you walk. As long as you are authentic with yourself you will see all these changes. In this era the pace of global changes is accelerating and so the rewards will not take so many years to find you. Fortunately for you.

Spirituality.. for me,my spiritual life is my number one priority, when it's in place every other thing aligns.
My spirituality is based on God's word, embracing what Christ has done for me and having communion/ fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
Yes, I can confirm that all of this has been true for me. Especially the last part about deeper connections with others. Though I'd add that what I'm seeing now in my life seems to be the "fruits of my labor" -- a reward for taking action toward meaningful pursuits -- as opposed to more passive approaches like prayer and meditation.
