Should we get these animals or pass?
Sometimes, free animals are offered to anyone who will take them. Not every free animal is a good fit for every homestead. The size, type, age, and cost of upkeep all have to be taken into consideration. Moreover, animals on the homestead should have "jobs" and provide a specific function. It's best to know what your goals are and what animals fit into those goals ahead of time, then, if you are ever offered free or cheap animals you'll know if you should even entertain the idea or if your answer is "No" right away.
