An increasing distaste for alcohol tends to come with aging. The body copes with any significant amounts of alcohol worse as the years go by. One begins to associate alcohol with the worsening hangovers. My drinking went down considerably upon graduation from university and the second time around the age of 35. Now just a couple of beers is enough. I drink them after sauna and that's that. I haven't had high-ABV craft beers at weekends for ages now.

I can attest to this. My history with alcohol is quite similar. I do occasionally buy stuff like rum, gin or whisky for our cupboard, more for the taste of it than anything. In beers and such, the dark ales are my favourites for their taste though. But I guess you knew that... 🤔
Yep. Maybe I will drink something special this Christmas but I won't be drinking anywhere near as much as in the past. A bottle of red wine may be bought to be had at Christmas meal, though.
