Hi there all, I hope that you are well and safe from all negative energy around the world so you can focus on your favourite things, such as travel and photography and ofcourse, our exceptional Hive!
For my entry into this great contest by @travelcontest, I would like to share with you one of my most favourite landscape photos ever and believe me, I taken quite a few thousand over the years..lol..but this one, I find truly stunning- even though it is now 23years old.
Infact this photo is an actual printed photo on paper- if any of you guys remember them....lol.(actually they all are in this post)..that I scanned a couple of months ago and put through photoshop to rub some magic on there as they are so pockmarked and faded, but despite this, it is an amazing and simple landscape photo that I took in 1998 at Independence Ghost town near Aspen in Colorado. And I think I took it with an old Kodak automatic 35mm camera too..(no iphones back then...)
The photo may have faded, but the simple, elegant beauty of this landscape didn't.
Here are a few more photos of that day trip too, which now feels like it was in another universe, in another dimension, almost in someone elses life time...Well it is literally half a world away now anyway...
And this shot was taken from the top of Independence pass looking back down into that gorgeous little valley where the ghost town is.
And here I am 23yrs ago up at Independence Pass, young, fit, free.... and on Saturday, I turn 50.
NOT happy Jan!
How time flies. How time has flown...how less traveled have my roads been...So having a mid life crisis, I bought a mountain bike for my BD, but as it is a cheap kmart bike, I had to build it out of the box. I'm almost there...lol...and now we're finally out of lockdown after 3 months, I've got to go back to the grindstone and make some money after being unemployed since then...oh life is so backwards these days...
Anyway, with a huge thank you to @travelcontest for creating this brilliant contest and if you too want to share you stunning landscape photos, why not join in by clicking on this link to find out how and have fun! https://peakd.com/@travelcontest
