I can still vividly remember how I tell myself that if ever I got my own smartphone with a good quality camera, I'll certainly bring it wherever I go and capture every good view and wonderful object I'll run into. Fortunately and unfortunately, I didn't get my desired phone but I found a friend when I was first-year college who allowed and supported me to be a wannabe photographer using his phone. Whenever we have vacant time, he would let me borrow his phone and I'll start to wander around the campus to find a subject that I could capture during my whole vacant time.
Most of my subjects are related to nature such as insects, flowers, trees, and views. I seldom take pictures with a human as a subject. I don't know, I just don't like the idea of capturing someone and only to find out that they don't like it. To make it short, I am afraid to be rejected and criticized during those times, well up until today really. But I am trying my best to fight that fear, trust me.
Despite my passion for photography, I didn't pursue it since I know in myself that I really don't have the skills of a photographer. I don't even know its rules. I would just click that shutter button every time I found something attractive and pleasing to my eyes. Just merely for entertainment and killing the time.
Well, taking photos allows me to ignore the world for a moment and just focus on what's in front of me. I mean, at some point, this hobby made me realize something valuable in life.
Life at some point will become uncertain and confusing, but we have to compose ourselves and try to fix our focus on the things that would help us the most. We should learn to blur things out and remove the things that won't help us grow as a person. Just like taking photos, in life, we will surely experience retakes and mistakes but that's completely normal and fine. It's how we learn and improve things. Successful people didn't reach their success without sacrifices, pruning, and failures. Those things are all part of success and it is where we develop a strong perspective on what life we really want for ourselves.
Given those statements, please allow me to show you some of the best shots that I took back then.
This was taken last 2019 if I am not mistaken. We went to the higher lands to conduct a gathering with our fellow Christians. The hike was between 3-4 hours from the city. This was taken during the break of dawn.
This was taken in the same place but not the same year. I guess, I took this one last 2020 or 2021, not really that sure. It was sunrise moment.
This is one of my favorites because the lightning is all-natural. Well, I made minimal editing to improve the image. But in person, it really looks like that. It was taken in the wet market here in our town.
This was taken inside our campus. It was during our vacant time wand found this perfect angle to capture this area of the school. I missed going to school. The life of a student is easier than the unemployed.
This was taken when we were hiking in Mt. Loay but suddenly, unforeseen incident happened and we weren't able to reach the peak of the mountain. After we hike, we proceed immediately to the sea.
In this photo, I have a prop whom is my boyfriend who's pretending to hold the moon. The moon during this time was so bright and big that's why, we decided to creatively take a picture of it.
The last but certainly not the least is this mini yellow bell. Well, I am just making up it's name cause I really don't know what kind of flower this is.
