The island on the other side looked as if it was being crowned by clouds. It is the last landmass in the north of my country. Pulau Weh, the name.
The sea that stretches between this coast and the island is essentially a bay. Aceh Bay, as it was called in past time.
History tells us that in the past, sailors from various lands had crossed there when they sailed to the east or west of the world. It is the northern gate of the Malacca Strait, north of Aceh land.
But the story, today, is just a fragile trail, like the marks of a motorbike tire passing on fine sand, or like the footprints of children playing, or like holes and balls of sand made by sand crabs, which soon all of these will be cleared by the rising sea without leaving any sign.
It was an event, abandoned by its time like the scum, left by the waves on the shore, and that place, is now an ideal place for hermit crabs to play and scramble for shells (and shame).
However, the ripples still don't get tired of carving its elegant reliefs on the beach, and the twilight still shows its charm on the west side of this land.
