Fungi photo etudes

in PHOTOGRAPHY [DAC]2 months ago (edited)

Hola, setero! Today I share some mushroom impressions from my summer walks. Most of the macros done with my Sigma 150mm lens, with a very few done with Sigma 50mm (non macro). Hope you enjoy today's little selection.

Porcini mushroom that appeared right at my summer place (20 m next to the door!). We picked a nice crop on that day, but it was back in 2022; same happened in 2023, but this year, strangely enough, mycellium of this fungus chose to sleep, developed no fungi bodies, despite of good weather conditions (warm weather and a lot of rains). Fungi's behaviour is unpredictable, they come and go on their own decisions which are not penetratable..

Ok, the rest photos were taken in the forest.

Look at this fellow, isnt it cute? Little Amanita muscaria baby just popped up and started developing.

The penetration ability of mushrooms is phenomenal - they penetrate not only forest soil and dense turf, like this yellow britlegill, but even the asphalt of city streets.

Sweet pair of puffballs in the twilight under the shady spruce trees jungle - almost natural monochrome.

This maze fungus is Daedalea quercina - spectacular trimming fungus, absolutely unremarkable unless you look at it from its downside.

This brown cap boletus popped up among the clover lawn; it was huge.

The smallest mushrooms, like fluff, stuck to the burnt tree branch. This is Schizophyllum commune, or the split gill fungus - perhaps the world's most widespread fungus.

Oyster mushroom, very common one too - you may find it at your local supermarket. But look, such a wonder 'flower' it developed on a thin stick.

You've shared something nice for us to view. These are all very interesting finds, especially for me. 🤩

Somehow this one looks the most interesting to me. The exterior looks like a popcorn and the yellow color on the cracks look like melted butter with caramel 😂 I imagine the taste to be sweet and buttery… which I doubt 😅

Look can be deceiving, lol, never put such a mushroom in your !PIZZA 🤓

Oh so this is the kind of fungi that’s for your eyes only 😅

That one with the snail on top is a great shot! And the last oyster is a nice shot, like a fan spread out growing off the tiny stick. Great pictures!
