Christ is the way, he is the savior and He is the only one who can save us. There is no reason why we should believe in our ancestors when we can simply believe in Christ because He is the teacher which came down from heaven.
If you ever believe in your ancestors, it means that you have betrayed the truth. Well, this doesn’t mean that the ancestors are liars or they are telling lies but it is just telling us that our ancestors sometimes direct and guide us to the path which is far away from God instead of guiding us through the ways of God and helping us to know more of Him.
In the book of Matthew 15:9, the Bible says; But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men
Do you know that there are some commandments of men that makes our worship in God in vain. These set of people just come up to assume that this is how things should be without sourcing from the right book and witness which is the Bible.
Let’s read Mark 7:7-8 which says; Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men
For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do
So sometimes, we may feel our ancestors are right but they may be wrong. Our ancestors may not even understand the Bible properly and that’s why when we have been taught, we also have to check the Bible which will serve as a witness to what we have been taught.
Our ancestors may be wrong so we should not follow their ways but that of God and he will bless us.
As Christians, where our belief should be centered on is the word of God
It should be God always
