Brother Eli didn’t just lecture us today but taught us so many things that relates to fasting. In Christianity, fasting is known as an act or practice of starving yourself which mostly aims at spiritual growth and also to make your prayers answered by God.
Today, I learned that fasting isn’t only about not eating but there are so many things and acts attached to it.

For anyone or any Christian who is fasting, it is ideal to practice some acts. Fasting is even that time when you have to practice more of holy things and even give to the needy. It’s just like a ticket to answering your prayers fast. While fasting, it is important to make sure that you give to the needy, you feed the hungry ones, provide shelter for those who don’t have as long as you are capable of doing so.

*Isiah 58:7 says, Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh.

And for the married ones, God has allowed you people to make love. This is part of what Bro Eli has said. Those who are married should not deprive each other of making love as your body belongs to that of your spouse.

1 Corinthians 7:5 says, "Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by mutual consent for a time, to be free for prayer, but then return to one another, so that Satan may not tempt you through your lack of self-control.

But while fasting, it is important to stay away from such. As I said earlier, it is not prohibited for those who are married to make love but make sure that you totally stay away from it while fasting.
That’s what I have learned from Bro Eli today and I hope that we all put it to use.
