Greetings all!
I would like to explain what I learnt in the Mass Indoctrination service today on prayer.
JAMES 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
According to James 5:16; it should not be to a man or priest but to one another and pray for one another with love.
Go to him/her and confess to him and pray for each other.
1 JOHN 5:16
If any man see his brother committed a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask God and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
There are two kinds of sin.
First To death it is a sin committed willfully.
Second Not unto death it is a sin that is not intentionally.
When we see our brother who have commit sin, our first obligation is to pray, not to be gossiping about our brother or spread rumors about him.
James said when your brother confess to the erring one, let everyone pray and ask for forgiveness for the brother that sinned.
We need to have love for one another.
1 PETER 4:8
Then, we need to have fervent love among yourselves: for love covereth the multitude of sins.
In the world, there are many sins.
Look with evil intent
Thinking of Evil thought e.t.c.
PROVERBS 24:9
The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men. It is abomination to God to hangout evil thought and hate or depising others.
PSALMS 32:5
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Confession is first to God and next the person you have wronged.
It is clear that we are to acknowledged our sin to God, not to the priest.
PROVERBS 28:13
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
Note: The person you sinned against, the Bible commands the person to pray for you and vice versa.
Elijah was also like you, he was also a human.
And he prayed and God answered him Luke 4:25-27.
Elijah was sent to only
one widow, while there were many widows during the period of no rain for three and half years.
Also there were many lepers in Israel but only Naaman was healed.
In the midst of so much wickedness, if there a man like Elijah to pray the Bible says *the prayer of a righteous man availeth much. God will answer.
ISAIAH 65:24
And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
If the righteous will pray to God, the promise of God is before we call Him, the God will answer. No need to pray, repetitiously
MATTHEW 6:7
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
MATTHEW 6:8
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. So, we should not be axcious.
Therefore before you start praying God already knows what you need.
DANIEL 9:22
And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.
DANIEL 9:23
At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to show thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.
God had answered Daniel when he started praying.
