What is the faith of the thief on the cross written in Luke 23:42-43 (Part 3 of 7)

Hi People of God,

I'm contributing to the biblical question titled "What is the faith of the thief on the cross written in Luke 23:42-43 (Part 3 of 7)"

In Luke 23: 39-43

And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, if thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

But the other answering rebuked him, saying, thou art in the same condemnation?

And we indeed justly; for we received the due reward of our deeds; but this man hath done nothing amiss.

Then he said unto Jesus, LORD, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

That is where he professed his faith.

On that moment he is already believing in the LORD Jesus Christ and that is the profession of his faith.

He said LORD, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

This is an expression of faith.

And that word is sufficient to save him because he would just live for another hour or some minutes and not so long for him.

But for us who are not crucified, will it be sufficient for us?

Though, only have faith and do not good works anymore.

I will say if you are going to live only for about an hour, believing in Jesus Christ, then your faith will be sufficient for you to be saved.

But if you are still going to live for another day, week, month and years after believing in the LORD Jesus Christ, then you have to do something more than faith.

"2Peter 1:5. And aside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; And to temperance patience; And to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren or unfruitful in the knowledge of our LORD Jesus Christ But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins"

If we are purged from our sins and if we look far from that which is in front of us, then we are not blind.

We have to add something more than faith alone. So, faith is not enough, if you are going to live more long.

You have to accompany your faith with work of obedience to the LORD.

"1Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest is charity"

He didn't say the greatest is faith. NO! Meaning; LOVE is greater than faith.

There must be always LOVE even if you have faith According to 1Corintians 13:1-3.

But i have not love, I gained nothing. I gain no salvation.

Meaning, faith is not enough.

Faith is not enough for the thief on the cross because he cannot do anything anymore, just for him to believe. Why is because he cannot show love anymore. He cannot do good works anymore. There is no time for him anymore.

We have to consider the time element in understanding all sort of truth in the bible.

So, this shows the importance of time element and our love for God in surrendering our life to Jesus Christ to carry out good works with faith while it is day.
