Hi everyone,
My name is Alani Jeremiah Jesuseunfunmi
Today is the 24th day of April, 2021.
I want to share some of the lessons i leant from the topic *"Why did John use "spirit" instead of "prophet" in 1John 1:3? (part 1of 2)
1Corinthian 14:37 If a any man thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that i write unto you are the commandments of the LORD.
When Paul was teaching the Corinthians, he said the spirit of the prophet subjects to the prophet.
In 1 Corinthians 14:37; A prophet is recognized by the spirit that is in him.
Like prophet Jeremiah, Amos and Malachi. What is the spirit of their prophesy? Amos had the spirit of speaking against indulging in sins. and vengeance of the LORD, because of the transgression that was displayed by the children of Israel.
Even Jeremiah with the spirit of prophesies are for a particular purpose, and you will know they are of God by the spirit that is in them.
1John 4:1 says Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirit whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
John the disciple has given the clue to descern this. According to 1John 4:2 hereby know ye the spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
Verse 3 says And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist
