Why did the house of Prayer in Jerusalem become a den of thieves?/(part 1 of 3)

The house of prayer which is the Church of Jesus Christ is the pillar and ground of truth. It is not a gathering of thieves. And the Bible has made it clear to us on how we should comport ourselves in the house of God, and they are certain behaviours that are not expected.
The Lord is Holy, pure and righteous, so we should be mindful of our characters in the house of God

        Jeremiah 7:11

< Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.

Even before it was said by our Lord Jesus Christ, it was prophesied by prophet Jeremiah. Jesus was sent by the father to preach His word, that is why there pronouncements of the Father in the old testament.

        John 12:49-50

< For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

        Matthew 21:13

< And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

The Lord Jesus Christ says, it is written,
Christ is quoting from a former scripture , where God is speaking about His house being called a house of Prayer. Again Jesus cited this scripture in the book of Isaiah 56:7

< Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

God's thoughts for His house of Prayer in Jerusalem was to be a gathering place for worshipers from all nations, where their burnt offerings and sacrifices shall be accepted and not turning the temple into a business center.
