Hello everyone
I want to contribute to the question- How did Jesus cure the blind man at the Bethsida?
Jesus Christ healed many blind people during His earthly ministry, and four of them are recorded in detail in the gospels. Mark alone records Jesus' miracle of healing the blind man from Bethsaida (Mark 8:22-26), which happened not far from the scene of the feeding of the 5,000.
The blind man had been brought to Christ for healing by some friends or family. Before dealing with the man's blindness, Jesus separates the afflicted man from the crowd, taking him out of town away from the inhabitants.
Jesus said that neither the blind man nor his parents had sinned. The purpose of the blindness was that “the works of God should be revealed in him,” (John 9:3).
Mark 8:22 They came to Bethsaida and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.”
Mark 8:23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When He had spit on the man’s eyes and put His hands on him, Jesus asked “do you see anything?”
Mark 8:24 “ He looked up and said, ‘they look like trees walking around. I see people; they look like trees walking around.’”
Mark 8:25 “once again Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.”
Mark 8:26 “Jesus sent him home, saying, ‘Don’t go into the village.’”
Moral lesson, we are reminded by this account that Jesus knows our hurts and meets us where we are at, in order to take us to a place of complete redemption. He will not stretch our faith more than we can handle, but will tend to our wounds as He reveals more of Himself to us. Through the instance of the blind man being healed at Bethsaida we are given a sweet account of how Jesus opens the eyes of our hearts so that we can see Him more clearly.
