Hello brethren, am delighted today for I was enlighten during our meeting on zoom on Mass Indoctrination Of Our Lord Jesus Christ Day 3. Let me share with you in summary what I learnt.
How To Call Upon God
Praying is a doctrine or a commandment of God to us who follow Him. For this we need to learn how to pray i.e the appropriate manner of praying. When praying we need to examine our hearts and see that we don't have any iniquities in out lives for God does not hear the prayers of a sinful person.
John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
What is the appropriate manner of praying
When praying we should not be words repetitive for God already knows what we need.
Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
We shouldn't show of when praying . Praying is a private matter between God and us so we should rather do it secretly and God will answer us in the public. It is not wrong to stand when praying buy it must be done in private.
Matthew 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
When praying it is appropriate for us to kneel down as the early Apostles did
Acts 20:36 And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
When we kneel down to pray it shows intense respect to God . And this was the manner of praying by the early Apostles.
When praying a woman should cover their head and a man shouldn't cover their head.
1 Corinthians 11:4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
We are inviting you to join the MCGI Cares (Hive) community that study the words of God and also earn some reward by making our reactions on it. We can check this link https://peakd.com/c/hive-182074/trending
