Hello brethren, am delighted to share with you in summary the lessons I learnt during our zoom meeting on Mass Indoctrination of our Lord Jesus Christ Day 14.
Change starts with baptism because the meaning of baptism simply means change. With simply means washing away our sins.
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
Where should we Baptized?
There are those that are under the law and that law must be obeyed.
Ezra 7:23 Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?
The house of God is the church of God and if baptism is a commandment, then it should be done in the church of God. We are to be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The 'in' in the Bible is a preposition telling us about the place where baptism is to be held.
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Where is the name of the Father?
The household of God is the church of God.
Deuteronomy 12:5
But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
There is a household where the name of God is dwell and it is the house of and the house of God is the church of God where we are commanded to receive our baptism there. And we are all baptized in one body.
1Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
The church symbolises these things: house, body, city, nation etc.
Baptism should be done in the right place which is in the name of God and the name of God is in the church of God.
We are baptized in one body in which is in the church of God that is where the Spirit of God is.
Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism.
Baptism is an act of faith. And it should should be done in the name of the father not with the name of the father.
We should be vigilant because the enemies of God are using the name of God in vain, they take it and put it in the wrong place
Matthew 24:4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Psalm 139:20
For they speak against thee wickedly,
And thine enemies take thy namein vain.
The spirit of God is in the church. The Father's name is in the church, the Son is the priest and head of the church and the Holy Spirit dwells in the church. That's where baptism should be done and if any man is baptized elsewhere then his baptism is in vain.
We should be baptized at where the early Apostles and Jews were baptized.
