One thing I know is that God doesn’t force us to make vows. We do it out of our own willingness providing that we can fulfill our promises or vows. Brother Eli brought up a point which made sense to me.
He talked about the Catholicism. Those who are reverend sisters, brothers and fathers made a vow with the church and not with God.
That’s why when those people get married, they are sent away from their church. That’s because it’s a vow with the church and not God. God never told us not to get married.
1 Corinthians 9:5 says, Don’t we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers and Cephas?
This is a proof that missionaries got married. They has wives and even the mother of Jesus, Mary was also married to Joseph. It was just part of the lecture that Brother Eli taught us.
In Numbers 30:2, the Bible says, When a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said.
This is what you have to do when you make vow to the Lord. You have chose to make this vow so donit. If you feel there is something that will hinder you from obliging to the vow, you can stay away from it and do all you can do to make sure that you do what you are supposed to do.
God wants us to fulfill promises and it does not just have to be him but fulfilling your promises to other people as well.
Once you make a vow to the Lord, make sure that you try your best to follow the vow.
