Hello brethren,
I want to contribute to today's topic" What is the faith of the thief on the cross written in Luke 23:42-43? (Part 1 of 7).
Relating what happened on the cross to what the book of Isaiah said.
According to the book of Isaiah 64:6" But we all are as an unclean things, and all our unrighteousnesses are as filthy as rags; and we all do fade as leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, had taken us away".
According to the Bible there are two kinds of unrighteousness:
The righteousness of God ; which in Greeks means dikaiosunē meaning ; justice, equity.
The own righteousness of Man.
Romans10:3"They have not known the way in which God puts people right with himself, and instead, they have tried to set up their own way; and so they did not submit themselves to God's way of putting people right".
According to Apostle Paul; he said that there are those who are ignorant of God's righteousness, they establish their own righteousness. They are just speaking of themselves. They have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God
As stated in the book of Isaiah 64:6; these people are very far away from God. They have faded like leaves. They have no good history, everything just faded and blown away by wind.
Apostle Paul made us to understand that no one is righteous, according to Romans 3:10-12" As the Scriptures say: "There is no one who is righteous,
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good ,no not one.
These are those people who have forgotten God in their lives. None of them seek God or understand.
These are the people that their righteousness are like filthy rags.
