Hello brethren,

My name is Chukwuka Blessing Oluchukwu.

Today is the 24th day of April 2021.

I am here to contribute to the topic why did John use "spirit" instead of prophet in 1 John 1:3? (Part 1 of 2).

A prophet is being recognized
by the spirit in him like prophet Jeremiah , Amos and Malachi according to the book of 1 Corinthians 14:32, which says and the spirit of the prophet are subject to the prophets.
The spirit in prophet Amos is Vengeance for God.

According to 1corinthians 14:37, it says" if any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord".

A prophet is prophesying or speaking by the spirit not in flesh.

Every prophet has a particular spirit in him. We know if they are of God by the spirit that is in the. According to 1 john 4:1 ,Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirit whether they are of God: because many false prophets.

How do we know that the spirit is of God?

According to 1 john 4:2, hereby know yet the spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jesus is come in the flesh is of God. Then the verse 3 says; and any spirit that confesseth not that Jesus is come in the flesh is not of God.

Any prophet that says that Jesus is a man does not have a spirit of God in him. So, in essence, he is an anti Christ, according to II John 1:7.

My brethren there are many false prophets in the world , we should be able to differentiate from the prophet of God and the Antichrist based on their teaching and prophecy.

Thanks for reading and may God bless you, Amen.
