As a doctrine of Christ, a man or woman have no right to deny their spouse sexually except it is mutually agreed to abstain for a while in order to fast and pray.
1 Corinthians 7:5
Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
What the bible says about prayer
Isaiah 58:6-8
;6. Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
:7. Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
:8. Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
Fast is not a bribe to God, it is to loose the bound of evil on the mind. Fast help the mind to forgive who sin against us. Fasting period is a time to help the needy.
It is the time to let our light shine to others.
Fasting time help the immune system to regenerate. It strengthens our defense mechanism against disease.
Fasting period is not a time to look pitiful. We don't need to announce to people that we are fasting. It ought to be a secret between us and our God because He is the one that will reward us.
Matthew 6:16-17
:16. Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
:17. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
In the lesson I also learnt that women should keep their body very well because it is mainly meant for the husband. God is against adultery and whoremongers.
Hebrews 13:4
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Merely looking at the nakedness or lust after another woman, adultery has already been committed.
Matthew 5:28
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
The husband is the head of the wife and Christ is the head of the church. The role of a man in the household is like a president.
Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
As church is subjected to Christ, wives should subject to the husband.
Man must provide for his family because it is a sin not to.
1 Timothy 5:8
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
