The primary doctrine of God is Love.
Colossians 3:14
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
The first one to whom we are to devote love to is God and the second is our neighbors according to the commandment.
Matthew 22:37-40
:37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
:38. This is the first and great commandment.
:39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
:40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
We are to love our enemies and pray for them that persecute us.
Matthew 5:44-45
:44. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
:45. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
To love our friends is a normal and common thing to do. Loving our enemies is what makes us to be like our father in heaven.
God loves all, including those who do not even reference Him. Love is the reason He let sun to shine and rain to fall on the just and unjust.
Luke 6:35-36
:35. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
:36. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
We are to love our enemies, do good to them and hope for nothing for our reward is in heaven.
When our enemies go hungry or thirsty we are to feed them and give them water. It is a commandment.
Romans 12:20-21
:20. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
:21. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
It is the will of God for all men to be saved so, we need to live with all men in love so that they can come to Christ through our character.
1 Timothy 2:4
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
In all we do our conscience must be void of offence toward God and fellow men.
When our heart is free of evil, we will not think of any evil towards others.
Acts 24:16
And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.
I also learnt that I should treat people the way I want them to treat me. Whatever that is not good that I won't take, I shouldn't do it to others.
Matthew 7:12
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
If any man offend us, it is wrong to take the person to court of law where an unbeliever would be a judge.
1 Corinthians 6:5-7
:5. I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
:6. But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
:7. Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
We are expected to show love at every opportunity that we have.
James 2:16
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
It is not enough to tell people about love but in every way we can, we must express it. To give encouragement with word of mouth alone is not enough when we can actually give our money and other material things.
1 John 3:18
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
