When it comes to spirituality , we are financially obligated to those that are in need of our help.
As a Christian, I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and in the gospel he preached about 2000 years ago.
- Mathew 5:42 :
"Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you."
Jesus taught us about generosity , kindness , and how believers should be encouraged to help others in need.
Selflessness and love is a key principle that was not just taught, but reflected in the passage and aligns with the broader teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ on compassion.
We should help our neighbors open handedly and then have full trust in God for provision.
- Luke 6:35 :
"But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked."
This passage Encourages us to not focus only on our friends, family, loved ones but yo also extend the kindness to our enemies and not to expect anything in return.
This shows a particular nature of God , because he is merciful even to the ungrateful.
- Exodus 22:25 :
"If you lend money to one of my people among you who is needy, do not treat it like a business deal; charge no interest."
We are also being commanded to lend or borrow to the poor people without expecting anything in return.
- 1 John 3:17
"If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?"
A true and genuine Christian love towards the people around us is not expressed only through words, but through actions.
If you have what it takes to help your neighbor, and you decided not to help them , it begs the question, if the Love of God is truly in you.
We are being encouraged by the chapter to Engage on generous giving , compassion, and care for our neighbors.
On a physical note we have no obligation to any poor man but on a spiritual note , we do .
Giving to charity is like a key that binds us Christian.
As a Christian, we should learn to help not just our fellow Christians but also to extend the hand to our enemies.
