The topic of the gospel is Does God listen to Idol worshipers ?and was brought to us by Bro Eli and Bro Daniel.
Who are idol worshipers ?
Idol worshipers can be described as those set of people that worship any other thing other than the one and only true God in heaven.
Does God listen to idol worshipers ?
- 2 Corinthians 6:14 :
14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?
16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."
17 Therefore, "Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you."
18 "And I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
In other to tell us how hateful the worship of idol is to the Christian family, Apostle Paul adviced us to stay away and have nothing in common to do with people who don't share the same Faith with us.
In his own opinion, there is nothing common between darkness and light, righhteousness and unrighteousness has nothing in common.
It was a call to believers to align with those that share the same Faith with us as it will also Encourage us to remain steadfast.
If you keep on keeping company with people that don't align with your Faith as a Christian, you may likely backslide and fall off Faith.
If you separate yourself from idol worshipers,God will receive you into his family and as a father he will only listen to the prayers of his children.
That Might sound insane to some people but I believe this is actually true, idol worshipers are people that disobeyed God how do you worship idol and still expect God to answer your prayer ?
- Habakkuk 2:18-19 :
18 "Of what value is an idol carved by a craftsman, or an image that teaches lies? For the one who makes it trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak."
19 "Woe to him who says to wood, ‘Come to life!’ or to lifeless stone, ‘Wake up!’ Can it give guidance? It is covered with gold and silver, but there is no breath in it."
In this verse, we were meant to understand that idols are lifeless entity that was carved out of wood and created by humans. We were warned against trusting them as they oppose the living power of the true God.
- Psalm 115:4-8 :
4 But their idols are silver and gold, made by human hands.
5 They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see.
6 They have ears, but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell.
7 They have hands, but cannot feel, feet, but cannot walk, nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
8 Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.
In this chapter, we were meant to understand that idols are not just powerless but lifeless which are just the handwork of humans.
They don't speak,they don't hear,they don't listen, they don't feel , so how can they even help those that worship them
So my fellow brethren, let us desist from idol worshipers and also desist from aligning with people that do in other to protect our faith and ourselves.

God is the only true and living God, and He wants us to follow Him alone. Idols are just man-made objects, they can’t see, hear, or help anyone. So, trusting them is a waste of time. As Christians, we should stay away from idol worship and focus on God, who listens to us and answers our prayers.
