Good day brethrens, welcome to another exciting edition of the gospel as brought to us by Bro Eli and Bro Daniel.
In the gospel, we were taught about why it is important to avoid making promises.
Love is a very good thing, it is something that can really drive us into making promises, but according to Gospel we received, we were warned against doing such.
It is better you surprise someone than forcefully fulfilling your promise. Don't make promises.
People are mostly excited when they receive a surprise package than when they receive a gift that was promised to them. God does not want us to make vows that we cannot keep.
- Ecclesiastes 5:4
When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.
According to the chapter of the book of Ecclesiastes ,we were told that it is very important that we keep to our words especially with God , it is very essential that we maintain your integrity and faithfulness when keeping to our promises.
- Ecclesiastes 5:5
It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it.
But coming down to these verse, we were warned on how dangerous it is to make promises to God and fail to fulfill it.
- Proverbs 13:12
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
This verse points clearly to the direction we are going to , when a promise you made to someone is being delayed, it can be discouraging.
One of the reasons why it is not advisable to make promises is that you do not know what will happen tomorrow you might feel to fulfill your promises or the person might die.
also making promises makes you indebted to the person so in a situation whereby you are struggling to fulfill that promise might cause you unnecessary stress.
