Many people in the church are there who do not understand the ways of God. Many of them have been hearing the teachings and doctrines of Jesus Christ but cannot live their lives in accordance to it because they do not really understand the laws of God. Some people do not have value for God because the things of God are not clearly understood by them.
A person is said to have understood a thing when he truly listen to it. Listening means understanding and assimilating what one hears. When we have been hearing the word of God and have been reading our Bibles without what we have heard having any effect on our lives, it means that we are not listening to this adequately.
When we hear the word of God, let us open our hearts and allow our hearts to be fully infused by the word. We should allow the Holy Spirit to help us to understand the Word of God. We should listen adequately to the doctrines and assimilate them into our hearts.
Matthew 28:20 (KJV) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
In this new year, I will give diligence to understand the Word of God
