The first thing Brother Eli thought us in his teachings is on how we are to confess our sin. He said our sin should be confessed first to God and next to the person who we have sinned against.
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
We should let Love be in our heart always because love covered a multitude of sin. So with love in our heart, we will be able to confess our sins.
There are two kinds of sin; they are:
- Sin unto death: The one committed conscioisly
- Sin not unto death: Once done unconsciously.
1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death.
Bro Eli also teach us how to pray. Prayer is a doctrine, and we must observe it according to the word of God.
Exodus 3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
Our body is the temple of God and we must use it right for God, and also keep our ourself holy.
Hebrew 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
The Lord will give us understanding of His word in Jesus name.
