Staying healthy biblically (Part 3 of 4) The Old Path | MCGI (My Review)

Scriptures: 1 Timothy 4:8, Proverbs 17:1

There somethings that we just have to do for ourselves. We can't expect God to do everything for ourselves. However we treat our bodies is very important because God said that we are going to give account of it, that is why it is our responsibility to make sure that it's in proper condition.

As to the best of our ability, we should ensure that we stay healthy. Proper nourishment and regular exercises can help us to achieve this. One of the things that someone who aspires to be healthy does is to look out for the kind of food he eats. We should eat food that brings nourishment to our bodies instead of malnourishment.

Exercise is needed for everyone. Not just body builders or people who seek to lose weight. No one is exempted from carrying out exercises as long as they have the energy for it. As uncomfortable as sweating may seem, it does a lot of good to our health. This process helps to excrete toxins which are harmful to the body.

1 Timothy 4.8 - For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

In as much as exercise is profitable to us, it cannot be compared godliness. Godliness is the ultimate. But that doesn't mean God forbids us from exercising, or means that we should put aside exercise. God is also interested in the wellbeing of our physical health. So we should ensure to walk towards staying healthy.
