When Christ was on earth, it was recorded that He underwent baptism. If there's one thing that we learn from the New Testament is that most of the things that Jesus did was for the purpose of setting out examples for us to follow.

For example, when He took communion with His disciples, He told them to continue in that act in remembrance of Him.

The same thing goes with baptism. Jesus got Himself baptized despite His supremacy. Even though the person –John the Baptist–that baptized Him was beneath Him. He also went on to instruct his disciples to carry out this practice in their ministry.

Matthew 28:19 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Baptism is an essential for every child of God. We should ensure that when we get baptized we do it as a body that is representing Christ.

Any baptism that is not done in the honor of Jesus Christ is false. It is important to recognize the person of Jesus Christ while we undergo baptism.

Other passages discussed in today's teaching are:

I Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 3:10, Ephesians 3:14,Deuteronomy 12:5, 2 Chronicles 7:16, Ephesians 4:14
