It's always a wonderful time in God's presence. And I thank God for using His servant brother Eli to enrich us with the word of God in its full form. Today wasn't any less blessed as we discussed about the church and the significance of prayers being observed. It is just impossible to do without prayers.

Daniel 6:10 - Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

In the time of Daniel, a law was set that all the people of the land should serve no other God except the idol that the king commanded of them. But Daniel refused to stand by this instruction. Despite the consequences, he went ahead and continued praying to God. We can't negotiate prayers for any other thing on earth.

When we pray, we should ensure that our prayers are not made in vain. One of the reasons why our prayers can get hindered is because of sin. The right approach to sin is to forsake it, and not to embrace it, Proverbs 28:13 made this clear to us.

Other passages discussed in today's teaching are:

Matthew 6:7, James 5:16, Isaiah 65:24, Luke 4:24-25

Discipline is good during prayers to avoid distraction. That is why we practice kneeling down during prayers

Sin makes God neglect us and don’t answer our prayers
We should always try our best to stay away from it
