What I learnt during tonight's teaching are as follows:
Some people go to church on special occasions, celebrations, when they have money or new cloth.
In some churches you must have offering for you to attend services, this is not the focus of believer's gathering.
The focus of our gathering include looking at each other, greeting one another, hearing from one another, to know if someone is sick among you.
Going to church does not have to be dependent on wearing new cloths, suits e.g in Maloni church where you can't even wear T-Shirt, in the church of old a poor man who wasn't wearing fine cloth was allowed into the church.
There's need for us to sing unto God.
Revelation 5:8-9 KJV
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. [9] And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Revelation 15:1-3 KJV
And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God. [2] And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. [3] And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
The Angels are singing unto God.
When Jesus Christ was born the Angels sang.
Luke 2:7-14 KJV
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. [8] And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. [9] And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. [10] And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. [11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. [12] And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. [13] And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, [14] Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
In the forthcoming judgement, the Angels will sing
Our gathering should majorly be for admonishing one another in Psalms.
Colossians 3:16 KJV
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
When we are worshiping we will worship God and not Mary.
Hebrews 13:15 KJV
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
We will glorify God.
Psalm 92:1-3 KJV
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: [2] To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, [3] Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.
There is deliverance in singing, Psalm 32:7 KJV
Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
1 Samuel 16:23 KJV
And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.
Singing unto God is sufficient to drive out devil.
Singing came from God, it started before the world was created.
1 Corinthians 14:26 KJV
How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
All of us should Praise God not only the choir.
1 Corinthians 14:27-28 KJV
If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. [28] But if there b can ve no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
A gathering has a doctrine, a revelation, a tongue and interpretation.
The Preacher has the revelation and tell the church about the doctrine of Jesus Christ.
Seventh day Adventist says those worship on Sunday will receive the mark of the antichrist.
John 20:19 KJV
Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
Early Church gathered on Sunday.
In Saudi Arabia Saturday and Sunday are days of work, except for Friday.
When we gather we should remember that the most important thing is found in2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
God forgives, he heals. All you need to do is humble yourself before him.
