Are man’s thought or abilities limited before God? MCGI Topic Review.

Every part of our being has its limit, that is the natural condition of our being. Our eyes has its limit, we can only see white rays of light but we cannot see the ultraviolet or infrared rays of light. Ultraviolet light has shorter wavelengths than visible light while the infrared light has longer wavelengths than visible light. And although UV waves are invisible to the human eye, some insects, such as bumblebees, can see them, while mosquitoes can see the infrared waves. It has also been proven beyond reasonable doubt that the eyes of a dove can see ultraviolet rays of light also.

So our strength has its limit, everything has its limit in our being. The only thing that can go far beyond our means is our thinking. We can think that we are Superman and jump from the 22nd floor and then die, that’s why biblically speaking, God does not want us to think whatever we want to think because if you know God’s words, you should just not call yourself a freethinker, it is bad.

Romans 12:3;

For i say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Biblically speaking, our thinking must be disciplined by soberness, simplicity; our thinking must be regulated by God’s word and wisdom. We are not free to think whatever we want to think of.

IF free thinking means coming to your own opinion regardless of the truth about something, then no, that’s not Christianity, but then, neither is that freethinking. True freedom is to be controlled by truth, not by our own opinions.

I believe that freethinking, however, has sadly become a cultural ideology that keeps people from a rational consideration of discovering genuine freedom in Christian faith.

It's better and safer to regulate our thoughts with the truth. Thanks for this.
