Sins are not confessed to priests, but if you have wronged a brother, tell him about it. If you offend someone, they will pray for you.
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. 18 Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.
There are two types of sins, there are sins unto death(mortal sin) and sins that are not unto death ( non mortal sin).
The word of God says, if you see your brother sin a sin not unto death, you shall pray for him. A brother who sins should not be put to bad light, you are to pray for him.
Love forgives sins, it understands the sins of others. Love is a remedy to sin.
1 peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”
Confession is not made to man; rather, it is made to God first, then to man.
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.
It is good to confess our sins, but he that covers his sin shall not prosper.
If you confess your sin unto God and then unto whom you have sinned against, God will forgive you.
Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
If we pray not repetitiously but fervently God will hear us and would have answered before you started praying.
Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
There is a difference between righteous people who obey God and those who do evil.
Psalms 16:3 Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge. I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing." As for the saints who are in the land, they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight. ... I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.
It is Gods delight to see men that dwell in holiness.
Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
A righteous man's prayer is effective, but the petitions of the wicked are an abomination to God.
He will respond if you pray and fulfill his commands.
The house of God which is the church of God is the house of prayer.
Hebrew 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
