The Effective Power Of Prayer.

Source

Do you realize that God, our heavenly Father, desires our prayerful communication with Him? because he is always willing to hear our prayers. Regular prayer can benefit us, our loved ones, and the people we pray for. Additionally, it can help us understand God's plan for our lives better and bring more serenity into our lives.

I've heard people question how communicating with an invisible presence can bring about healing for the sick, life for the dead, and comfort for the grieving on numerous occasions. Some people describe Christians who pray as insane.

The reality is that one crucial verse from the Bible contains the answers to all of their queries. Jesus spoke in Matthew 18:18–20 about the effectiveness of prayer when he said,,

“Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

The Bible contains numerous instances of Jesus and the other disciples praying in conflict. At Elijah's request, God closed the sky and stopped rain for three years. For Moses to guide His people through, He split the Red Sea. In addition to casting out demons and healing the ill and the blind, Jesus also revived the dead, including Lazarus, on several occasions.

There is a common misconception that our level of faith affects how effective or quickly God will respond to our prayers. This isn't usually the case. Sometimes, despite our own lack of trust, the Lord grants our petitions.

God grants the church's request in Acts 12:5 for the release of Peter from prison. In verses 7–11 of the same chapter, it is stated that Peter knocks on the door of the prayer group, but the people who are praying initially reject his claim to be Peter. They prayed for his release, but they didn't think their prayers would be heard.

Prayer offers us the power to change the things in life we don't like, but the majority of us don't realize this power because if we did, we would be praying much more and regularly. To pray would mean forsaking everything else. We would be on our faces before God pleading for His intervention rather than worrying about the rise in wickedness in our land. Unfortunately, prayer is often the weakest link in congregations. Because it holds the key to God's blessing in the spiritual sphere, it ought to be the strongest.

Here are some ways that prayer can enhance our life:

  1. Your relationship with God will grow as a result of your prayer life, just as your relationship with your parents will grow as a result of conversation with them. Your heavenly father longs to communicate with you and hear from you often. He hears your prayers. He then responds to your prayers through thoughts, spiritual feelings, scripture, or even other people's deeds.

  2. Miracles can be wrought via prayer; the Bible is full of instances in which the Lord performed wonders in response to prayer. Because he would not stop praying, the prophet Daniel of the Old Testament was cast into a lions' den. In response to his prayer to God in the lions' den, angels showed up and covered the lions' mouths. You can also personally benefit from miracles like healing, tranquility, and sin-forgiveness through regular prayer.

  3. Prayer yields solutions: You can gain a deeper understanding of your life's purpose by praying and paying attention to the responses God offers you. God will make it clear to you why you are here and how you can make it back to Him after this life.

  4. When you pray every day, you invite the Holy Spirit into your life so that He can be with you, comfort you, and guide you. You can get guidance from the Holy Spirit, who can also help you experience God's love and fill your heart with feelings of joy and serenity.

  5. Prayer makes you more like Jesus since He set the best example of it. You will grow more like Him and strengthen your relationship with Him and Heavenly Father if you make an effort to imitate His example through prayer.

  6. You gain the ability to resist temptation through prayer: "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation," Jesus advised His disciples (Matthew 26:41). We can resist temptations to sin by praying. Ask God to help you avoid making poor decisions in your prayers. You'll have the power to act morally thanks to this.

  7. You can accept God's will by praying and regularly fasting, just as Jesus did before He started His earthly ministry. He did this while in prayerful communication with His heavenly Father. Similar to this, you can feel more connected to God and comprehend what He wants you to accomplish if you pray and fast.
