It is a common myth among Christian that the fruit Adam and Eve ate that makes them sinned against God was Apple. But how true is this myth? Does the eating of Apple make a person sin? In this video lesson, Brother Eli Soriano explains with biblical references the truth about the myth, and the reason why Adam and Eve sinned.
First of all, according to Brother Eli, God did not create anything that can make us sin. Everything that God created were for the benefits of mankind. We can read about this in the book of Genesis chapter 1, verse 31. It says, "and God saw that everything that He had made and behold it was very good, and the evening and the morning were the sixth day".
God saw everything that He had made was very good. Everything that was made was very good, there was no evil about anything God created. This scripture by Moses was also confirmed by the Apostle Paul in the book of First Timothy chapter 4, verse 4. It says "For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:"
So it is a biblical fact that everything that God created is good and it is good for all of us. The only thing which is wrong is the improper use of all these things that God have created.
We can find so many examples of how people use the things God has created in a bad way, bringing problems to themselves. For example, marijuana is a medicinal substance that is good for the treatment of pain, stress and other ailments. But if not properly used, it will destroy your body.
Apple was created by God like other fruits. The apple tree maybe one of the trees in the garden of Eden. However, not the Apple tree or the eating of Apple that made Adam and Eve to sin. The Bible has no mention of Apple tree, it's human assumption that created the myth that Apple was what made Adam and Eve to sinned against God.
The book of Genesis chapter 2:16-17 tells us the instructions or commandments God gave unto Adam.
Genesis 2:16-17 (KJV) And the LORD God commanded the man. Saying of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die"
So, we see the tree that God commanded Adam not to eat of its fruit. It's called the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And it's false to say that the fruit of that tree was apple.
Apple was never forbidden by God to be eaten by man. It was the tree of knowledge of good and evil at the middle of the garden that was forbidden. If the Bible didn't call the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil apple, we cannot call it so.
So we are sure there are no poisonous trees in Eden. Because the commandment says "of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat" It means eat whatever you want including the apple tree, except that of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And the tree that was said not to eat of its fruit was what Adam went for. Adam sinned because he disobeyed that injunction of the lord.
In the world today, there are a lot of things to be eaten, but not all things are good for health to some people. There are people for health reasons are advised by medical director to avoid eating some types of food because they are harmful to their health.
God knows what is good for the man He created, that is why He said the fruit every tree in the garden in the garden he may eat freely. As for the tree of knowledge of good and evil, the instructions are very clear, the day thou shalt eat of it, thou shalt surely die. So, we cannot say God created evil tree for Adam to sin against Him.
The fall of Adam fall was as a result of transgression by following the persuasion by his wife Eve, who was earlier tempted by the serpent to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It was satan who tempted eve to eat the fruit of that tree, and it was she who was used by satan as an instrument to persuade Adam to transgress God's law.
Transgresion is an act of disobedience, and that was the sin of Adam. The book of 1 John 3:4 says..
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Adam sinned because he transgressed God's law. The law was sumple, "eat all of the fruit except one" but instead of eating all of the fruits in the garden, enjoying all the bounties of God which he is freely permitted to eat, he chose to eat the one that he was instructed not to eat and so disobeyed God. That's why Adam sinned and not because of Apple.
Everything God created was good, no evil in them. Thanks for posting
